Yes it is - for small batches, but you loose any hallmarks and sellers maybe unwilling to let you smelt there hallmarked bars or coins. For larger batches the sonic test is better quicker and more efficacious. Thanks much for the post

As a former Foreign Service Officer; I enjoyed this. I once held a Government Clearance that actually meant something, but it has long since been inactive. I, too, have played the role of an II in my current vocation (with empirical knowledge as my guide) and have told others this is the best that I can do in my new reality (albeit better than an II). They either laughed at my history or been disappointed in my reality...but the truth is, "no one tells me much anymore since I left the Service" and I do the best I can with the information at hand. Yet, I draw no conclusions, just observations.

Looks like another wave of defaults for China and more legacy bonds to collect...

Most interesting that the cities, if their debt was not rolled over, would have defaulted on the bonds sold to the banks!

Do you think designers for example HTC Android, BlackBerry or Apple iPhone, are really interested in user behavior; or they just develop what they can and hope for the best. Game Changers like Steve Jobs certainly evolved how the every day consumers perceive technology. I'm sure many people don't even come close to using the capabilities the phone features. I question if the big mobile phone makers split it down to demographics, as in, so many people use a digital camera, such and such a portion use the web, or they merely throw as much at it as they can.

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to produce a thing worth my time to read. I am all over the Internet and I see so much pointless content about tablets, that people just created for the reason of putting something new on their page.
